Affected area
The droughts in Thailand often
affect to agriculture, due to the lack of rain or drought. In the rainy season
when there occur delays rain in june to july. The area in central north-eastern
part of Thailand is highly affected because in this area isn’t influenced by

Why does the drought in Thailand happen [Science]?
We are sure that many people have seen the soil that is very dry like the picture below. For us who live in Thailand, we always see the soil likes that in the dry area, although we live in the central part of Thailand. We want to know why does it happen and today we will show you the reason of this question.
Why does it happen [Science]?
Drought is lack of rain for a long period of time which is a
combined result of climate and human activities in the area. Drought will occur
when there is not enough precipitation in an area, when there is not enough
rain for the ground to absorb before it is evaporated again. In particular,
severe droughts tend to occur between latitudes 15 and 20, in areas adjacent to
the permanently arid and continental regions.
Droughts occur when a long
period of abnormally dry weather leads to a severe water shortage. Droughts are
also often caused by the activity of humans and can have devastating effects.
·
Widespread cutting down of trees for fuel reduces the soil’s ability
to hold water - drying out the ground, triggering desertification and leading
to drought.
·
Constructing a dam on a large river may help provide electricity
and water to irrigate farmland near the reservoir. However, it may also cause
drought downstream by severely reducing the flow of water.
